Medical cost for the loss of baby June
Many of you know that Kate and Zack Vaughan went through the unspeakable tragedy of losing baby June on December 8th, 2018. If you are like me, you have been touched by their faith throughout the mourning process, and deeply moved by their desire to "choose joy" in the midst of the pain of their loss.
But what most of you don't know, is that that loss of baby June came with an extra cost. The extra medical treatment necessary to try to save baby June, as well as to treat Kate afterward, left the Vaughan's with about a $20,000 medical bill.
The Vaughan's are not frivolous people. They don't waste money on fancy cars or lavish vacations. As one of their close friends, over the past several years I have watched them work hard to chip away at their debt and build the foundation for their future.
The unspeakable cost of losing your child is more than anyone should ever have to bear. To add to that sting a $20,000 price tag seems like a great injustice to me.
Let me be clear. The Vaughan's didn't ask anyone to start this Gofundme. They have not told anyone but their closest friends and family about their situation.
Zack is working three jobs right now, seven days a week, to try to get their finances back on track.
They now have another baby on the way and want to try to buy a house in the near future.
They don't deserve to have their lives made more difficult, nor their dreams derailed, because of medical bills.
