Medical care for Rushka

Rushka, the six-year-old pitbull, was rescued by my friend Kelly, a retired veteran who lives in Butte, Montana. Just over three months ago, I moved to Butte all on my own from Tennessee. I was nervous and scared to move so far away, but my first day in town was a welcoming one when I met this duo.

Kelly has faced hardships in his life, but just like all of us he has found things to keep his spirits high - his custom-built computer and Rushka.

Rushka needs multiple surgeries, but funds are especially hard to come by due to the pandemic. Yet Kelly has not hesitated to put all he owns for sale in order to keep Rushka happy and healthy.

Kelly asked me to use my position as a journalist to find a buyer for his belongings, including his prized custom-built computer. When I heard his willingness to give up everything, I felt I needed to do more. Perhaps Kelly can keep his computer and Rushka's life can be saved at the same time.

Rushka needs arthritis treatment, skin tags, laser tooth surgery, ear surgery, toenail and jaw treatment. 

The demonstration of love between Kelly and Rushka cannot be overstated. I'm determined to find a way to keep both passions alive and well for Kelly.
