Medical Bills for Kaylee

Donation protected
As most of you know Kaylee spent 8 days in the hospital due to Double pneumonia.  It started March 7th she went to the ER with chest tightness and high blood pressure, just not feeling right. She was diagnosed with having an anxiety attack. They did do an X-ray but said everything was fine. (later we discovered it did show something that should have been looked into) She still wasn't feeling well so she went to her pediatrician who tried to play it off as she's having an anxiety attack. Kaylee was persistent and said I know there is something else going on I don't feel right and they finally did a Flu test and Strep test. she tested Positive for FLU A and negative for strep. She continued going to school and felt bad on her spring break. She started hurting in her side on March 18th I took her back to the ER and she told them the symptoms and the hospital did an ultrasound and also a CT scan with contrast saying they THINK it's her gall bladder. Was sent home with 2 pain meds (never asked for anything for pain) and was told to get a Hida Scan. She wasn't feeling any better and I happened to sign her up for MYCHART so I could look at her test results.  (signed up on the 19th of March) Immediately I know something was wrong and I am not in any way medically trained. We were told everything looked GREAT at the hospital. I took her to her pediatrician along with the results of the test and she heard no breathe sounds on the right side and diminished on the left side.  Wasn't going to give antibiotics until Kaylee started vomiting. She then asked which antibiotics she wanted. I said well your the Doctor what do you think is best to treat it? So she has prescribed something that wasn't as useful.  Fast forward to March 23rd,  we used a pulse oximeter and that night her O2 dropped in the low 80's so I immediately call the ER to explain what had happened because she also had a low-grade fever and was told to bring her in immediately, get there pull up by the door and tell them she may need a wheelchair because her o2 stats were low and she may need help while I park. The girl at the door was RUDE told be go in there  (pointing) there might be one.  So I get one and it's the size of a small child and Kaylee has to push it in there. We check-in I tell them what's going on. They finally triage her and say oh her o2 is 98 (I don't believe that at all) We waited in the ER with her so sick for 4 1/2 hours. they did do a chest x-ray after we were there about an hour. We finally get back to the room and tell them they need to look at the chest x-ray and the entire ordeal she had been through since MARCH 7th. Also, the same doctor was there who had misdiagnosed her TWICE previously and I told him to go look at her X-ray now and that's when things got moving. He decided to test her for Covid19 even though she had no cough or anything so we were moved to a different room.  I could only stay with her while she was in the ER and had to leave when they moved her to a different room.  She was scared first time being admitted and being by herself then being told she may have covid19. She was getting worse and we only been hearing news of her getting worse. They ended up doing a thoracentesis and taking 1200CC of fluid. Then she was moved to ICU which is where they were putting Covid19 patients. In a room which an ozone air machine and being told by the doctors they convinced she has covid19 and they will only be able to do supportive care. She was scared and still feeling bad. High fevers and o2 stats dropping. She called and was telling us goodbye, it was a VERY emotional time. We prayed and All of you prayed too and GOD answered prayers it wasn't 5 minutes after she was telling us goodbye they came in and told her the Covid 19 test was negative. She began to improve and they moved her out of that until to a regular room.  She is still improving but having right side pain. I am scared to take her back to the Doctor and potentially exposing her to anything as her immune system is still very weak. I just pray they didn't miss anything else.  I do thank the medical staff for taking care of my daughter.  As you may know, we have a numerous amount of medical bills and we need a little help. We have it all but about $2,100.00 I know everyone is going through hard and uncertain times right now.  If you could help any at all to help reduce the hospital bill we would really appreciate it. We don't like asking for help and we usually like to help people when we can. All the medical bills are also coming in Kaylee's name since she is 21 so we need to get this paid off so it won't affect her credit or anything. On top of this, my husband is no longer allowed to work overtime which was a permanent thing for the past 12+ years so it has greatly reduced our income as well.
