Medical bills for Haven 4 Hooves Rescue Horses

Haven 4 Hooves is a new horse rescue/safe haven that is seeking some help with vet bills and covering the costs for caring for the horses. In the last two months we have rescued 15 horses from the slaughter-house pipeline. All of the horses needed some basic medical attention, which has accumulated to a growing vet bill. This includes blood work, vaccines, de-wormers and check ups. We recently had dental work done for Raven, who required attention to help her chew properly and a hernia surgery for Switch.
Switch came to us with a sweet personality, but was very malnourished, full of parasites, and had quite a large hernia. His blood work indicated that he was very anemic. We have seen some improvements since de-worming him, but also treated him with some antibiotics to help bring down his infection. Switch's recent surgery went well and we hope that with the hernia repair, we will see an improvement with the chronic blood loss that was making him iron deficient. Since coming to us, he has been halter broke, feet trimmed, cross tied and bathed to get rid of his rain rot.
Raven was rescued along with her baby Gisele and was desperate need of getting her teeth done. She was struggling to chew her hay without choking. She is a fantastic mom, loves other horses, but is un-trusting of humans. We have been working with her everyday to build up her trust and she now leads and grooms, but still requires some further work to help her become less stressed around people. Raven is still looking for her perfect match and we would love support in helping her along her journey.
We recently rescued a couple new friends, Sully and Boo, who will need to go through the quarantine process. These two lovely boys will require medical check ups and some good quality feed to help get them to a good weight with the cold weather coming in. Sully was lucky enough to receive immediate attention from our farrier for his feet that will require some ongoing attention.
We are a non for profit and any money we receive will go to the costs and care of our rescue horses. We have already re-homed over half of the 15 horses that have come into our care and with your support we will continue to rescue, rehabilitate and re-home more horses that deserve a second chance at life.
