Medical Bills & Car loss

Hello everyone! My name is Nicole and I am 32 years old. I finally gained independence recently, moved out of my moms house after a breakup from a decade long relationship in 2021, I was working, started school for Marketing, holding down my home, car payments, I was doing the damn thing.

On March 7th 2024, my entire life changed in the blink of an eye. I got into a car accident and my whole world turned upside down.

My first thought was “NOT my baby.” But then the panic diverted to my leg, which was very obviously broken. Shock set in, the ambulance was called, and to the hospital I went.

After evaluation, it was determined my ankle was shattered. I had a compound break in my lower leg, which means the bone was exposed from the skin, as well as three fractures in my tibia and fibula, and my ankle was completely shattered.

This resulted in 3 surgeries. The first was to stabilize the injury for transport to the trauma center, the second was to fix what was done and move the bones in place to prepare for the final surgery, which will be plates and screws and removal of the external fixation.

This is just part of the battle. I have to learn how to walk again once it heals, extensive rehabilitation, I will no longer be independent. I will have to move back home to my mom’s because of the lack of mobility and need of assistance. My car is completely totaled, I had to drop out of school, I am unemployed. I normally wouldn’t start a go fund me, but at this point I don’t know what else to do. Any amount helps, and every single share is appreciated! The contributions will go toward the mountain of medical bills coming to me, as well as any bills due to the car loan company, potential purchase of DME items since I am uninsured and unemployed, and eventually assist in getting me a car when the time comes.
