Memorial Fund and Support for Denis Kamakea

Aloha everyone.  I have humbly created this gofundme page to help support our family and my husband, Denis Kamakea, who was admitted to Castle Hospital on January 8th and is currently in ICU, being treated for Septic Shock, and a host of other major health issues. On Sunday, January 5th, Denis started to feel sick, and we assumed it was a virus.  Within three days, he couldn't breathe, hadn't been able to hold anything down for  72 hours, had chest pains, and couldn't move the right side of his body without severe pain symptoms. We came into the ER thinking that he had some kind of virus or flu, but over the past three days, we have learned that his blood sugar spiked to 648 due to his illness and because he hadn't eaten for 3 days. This caused a ton of different problems- pneumonia, sepsis, kidney problems, blood circulation issues, a severe infection in his shoulder joint, and other things. Last night, his heart function dropped to 30% and the doctors performed  a procedure to put in a pacemaker.  In the coming days, he requires hospitalization and will undergo a series of tests that potentially require surgery and other invasive procedures. At the moment, Denis is not covered by medical insurance, and we are humbly asking for your support to help cover these bills. Denis is a loving daddy, a wonderful husband.  We have seen our share of crazy in our life, and are so grateful for the healing and redemptive power of Jesus Christ!  After all is said and done, whatever happens to hi in this battle, he knows his Lord and Savior will be waiting with open arms.  And he has been singing the praises of God to everyone he meets here at the hospital.
