Medical assistance for Chantelle

Donation protected
Chantelle is a wonderful wife and mother of three. On May 18, 2022, she suffered a major heart attack which had left the Family with unimaginable hospital expenses. She was originally transported to Memorial North Hospital. Once stable she was transported to Memorial Central hospital where she underwent her first major heart surgery. From Memorial Central she is being flown to a heart specialist in Denver, CO where her journey continues.

Funds raised here will go directly to her procedure and any future medical expenses. Any and all donations are tremendously appreciated. If you are unable to donate you can still help simply by sharing this go fund me to help Chantelle and her beautiful family. Anything to help her and her loving family would be greatly appreciated.

** UPDATE**

From the bottom of our hearts, THANK YOU for all your generosity.  Our story is one filled with grace and miracles.  This is just a short account of what has happened in the last 6 days: Last Wednesday afternoon (5/19/2022), our lives were forever changed when my wife, Chantelle, suffered a massive heart attack while at home eating lunch.  As a healthy 40-year-old woman, we never imagined she would fall victim to Spontaneous Coronary Artery Dissection (SCAD).  SCAD is an undiagnosable cardiac event which kills most people before they can even reach the hospital.   By the grace of God, Chantelle was on an VA ECMO machine by Wednesday night.  We were told her heart was destroyed and there was no life left in it.  She was transported to the Anschutz Medical Center where doctors continued to try and stabilize her.  Before she left Colorado Springs, we were told to prepare for the worst.   When she arrived in Denver, her medical staff continued to stabilize her.  By Friday afternoon, we were told she had passed the tests to be placed on the heart transplant list and that she would be placed in the #1 position.  We went to bed Friday night, not knowing how long we would wait for a new heart.  We saw the average wait time was anywhere from 6-10 months.  But we prayed the heart would be found very quickly.   We woke up Saturday morning from one of Chantelle’s doctor’s phone call.  They told us they found a heart!  Although we were excited, we were also hit with the realization that someone else’s loved one would be dying in to keep Chantelle alive.  We are praying for the family of the donor who gave their heart to Chantelle.   Sunday morning, at 1130 am (94 hours from the time the heart attack began), Chantelle was wheeled back into the emergency room to receive her new heart. Five hours later, the doctor came out to report the new heart was beating inside Chantelle’s chest!    Chantelle is in recovery mode.  We have a long road ahead but we would where we are without all of your prayers.  Thank you for giving to this GoFundMe.  We are starting to realize the amount of expenses ahead of us that aren’t covered by insurance.  Your generosity will help ease all the work ahead of us.   God bless you all!   Kalani Sharketti (and family)
