Medical Amputation Fund for our Dad

This is our dad, Stephen Begg. As a full time driving instructor, he is one of the most dedicated in our hometown, teaching safe defensive driving techniques to his students. This job has been a blessing for our father who has lived with type 2 diabetes for the majority of his adult life since he can't really stand on his feet for an 8 hour shift. But this past decade has been tough on his health as he gets older, having had 3 surgeries that amputated several toes on his right foot. His last surgery was the amputation of his pinky toe about 2 years ago, and since then he has been walking with the aid of a cane, but his bad foot has gotten worse.

His foot has gotten so bad that our father can't even walk on it. His energy and humour have dwindled along with his health as the infection has begun to take a toll on more than just his foot. Because of the severity of the infection, doctors have performed a below the knee amputation. The recovery process can last up to a year, which unfortunately my dad cannot afford. With his job being under a contract and not permanent full time he doesn't have the luxury of going on medical leave from work. But even if he applies for disability or government aid, he wont get enough to afford the necessities that his job requires like his car for teaching students, insurance, or the basics like rent and bills. 

This gofundme will help provide the assistance in bills and time he needs to fully recover from this amputation surgery. The money will be helping with lost wages and cost for living a comfortable existence while he recuperates, and potentially in the aid of a new prosthetic limb down the road. Any help is appreciated in this trying time for our family. We just want our dad to recover as soon as possible, and the quicker we can get bills and stress out of the picture, the faster he can recover both physically and emotionally. He has lost his leg, but we won't lose him.
