Pedal4Pink: Bike Trek for Breast Cancer
Between July 2-19, Trevor Fuhriman will bicycle from border to border with the help of classmates Eytan Mendelow and Sahand Kalhori. We will be traveling from Canada to Mexico to raise awareness about early detection and prevention of breast cancer. Along our route we will stop in towns to meet with local residents, businesses, and elected officials to raise awareness about preventative methods. Statistically, 98% of breast cancers are curable with early detection and prevention.
In 2020, Trevor’s grandmother passed away from breast cancer and Eytan's grandmother had a mastectomy after a breast-cancer recurrence. We are organizing this trip to honor them and the many others who have been affected and will be affected by this disease.
We are also supporting the Women's Breast & Heart Initiative, which saves and changes lives by providing at-risk women with the prevention and early detection necessary to beat breast cancer and heart disease. Their mission of making breast cancer screening accessible to all, regardless of socioeconomic status, is accomplished through a four pronged strategy of targeted door-to-door outreach, screening, ongoing recommended screening and peer-led college campus clubs.
100% of funds we raise will go to the Women's Breast & Heart Initiative. Any donation will help, but if you are unable to donate, that’s ok! Above all, our goal is to raise AWARENESS. Please share this with your friends and family to help spread our message. Thank you in advance for your contributions and support!
