Fundraiser jazz gig time! Tuesday, July 7th, 7pm (EST), with friends Andy Ezrin (piano) and Jay Anderson (bass). We’re gonna Zoom, Zoom Zoom-ah Zoom! We will be performing from the friendly confines of Jody Elff’s living room (in a socially distanced fashion), with the assistance of Jody on all things technical (sound, video & snacks!). ALL proceeds will be going to the NAACP Legal Defense Fund.
I have had a privileged and simple life when it comes to moving through the world as a white man. I have always felt that I represented the “right” side of the discussion when it comes to inclusion of all races and genders. However, recent events have reminded me that there is still so much work to do, and that it takes more than just talk. Real effort and input is needed from all of us.
Originally, this little concert was just going to be a chance to share some music, dust off the saxophone, and see if I could still remember how to sing! However, with the racial and economic challenges that are facing our world these days, we have decided to turn this into an opportunity to help.
Tickets for the concert are $20 (feel free to donate more if you can). As musicians, offering music from our hearts is the best way to express our support for civic and social awareness, hope and change.
