Me vs. the medical establishment

So I have a tumor-like appendage that needs to be surgically removed or drained. An ultrasound reveals it to be benign, non-cancerous; however, it's still a lot of trouble. Not always painful (sometimes it is, when my stress level rises) but it's always awkward.
And The Oregon Clinic, which has a urology referral from my PCP, has refused to let me see one of their doctors for treatment. The clinic has canceled 2 appointments, both on the day of, based on an administrator's misunderstanding of what my insurance covers. Getting the referral transferred to another provider has proven to be an ongoing bureaucratic nightmare. At this point, I'm unsure whether I'll have to pay for a procedure out of pocket; not getting clear answers from the powers that be.
One of my concerns is that the tumor/cyst will keep growing & growing as the med establishment continues to do nothing. Meanwhile, I'm having trouble making the rent, as I've been out of work for more than a year. $800 a month due Feb. 5th. And then all the incidentals... buying food, keeping my phone on, and niceties like getting some vitamins.
Thank you for lending a helping hand.
