I am waiting to start radiotherapy treatments. I have had both breasts and lymph nodes removed. The contingency is especially hard on me as I am a person at risk and have not been able to work. I was also diagnosed with CVS - cyclical vomiting syndrome which is absolutely debilitating. Public hospitals are off limits due to Covid19 and I have had to go to private doctors and the consultations and meds (daily injections of Zofran and Carnotprim) are extremely expensive. Anything helps at this point, I'm at risk of losing my apartment and this is not a good time to be homeless. Thanks
I was diagnosed in January 2019 of stage 2 breast cancer which has spread slightly to my lymph nodes. Unfortunately I am incapable of returning to my home country for treatment as there is a waiting time before I can be covered by healthcare and my oncologist believes it could get worse or spread if we don’t act quickly. The good news is chemotherapy in Mexico is much cheaper than it would be in the US or Canada, but still more than what I can afford without being able to work during my treatment. Basically I’m looking at 6 months of chemo as well as a bilateral mastectomy, radiotherapy and hormone therapy for five years. Anything helps to keep me afloat and stay in treatment so I can fight this thing
