Laurie's Diamond Ash Fund

In October, 2014 my mother, Laurie Hansen, was told she had a sizeable tumour in her lower back, which had been causing her a tremendous amount of pain for countless months. Although her pain was evident, Laurie did not share her news with anyone until mid-January 2015 when she was hospitalized for ten days. After two blood tranfusions, biopsies, MRI's and CAT Scans, she was diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma, a rare form of bone/blood cancer.

Due to her overwhelming pain and lack of mobility, Laurie has lost a lot of weight and muscle mass and relies heavily on the support of caregivers. Her mother, Linda and close friend Sheila continue to selflessly donate their time, money and emotional support to my mother, which I could never fully express my gratitiude for.

Today, my mother is no longer alone in her battle. Her family and close friends now fight with her. Together, we are persuing treatment options as Laurie continues to fight with strength and hope.

We are reaching out to friends, family and the public for any financial support that can be given. All donations will be put towards her cost of living and medical treatments.
