Sandra's University Fund
My name is Jim Henry and the purpose of this campaign is to raise funds so Sandra Magwaza, the oldest daughter of my friend Adonia Magwaza in Harare, Zimbabwe can begin a Univeristy Education in Social Sciences.
The economy in Zimbabwe is in great turmoil and a huge percentage of the population is unable to find work. Along with some friends here in the USA, we've been sending support to Sandra's family so Adonia could continue his work as a Pastor and church planter and the children could continue their education. Just this past month, as Sandra is trying to prepare to enter University, the costs for tuition and fees have gone from $500 to over $900 per semester. Sandra is a very bright young woman who is applying for honors level studies and these kinds of fees are out of reach for her family.
In addition to being a good student, Sandra helps her parents with the siblings and she also was blessed to be chosen as a "junior member of parliament" which meant she had a leadership role with responsibility to help mento other young people.
I've set the revised goal for this campaign at $4,800. After we pay associated fees for raising the funds, we should have enough to cover Sandrea's 1st year of University. 220 people giving just $10 each will do secure these funds. If we had 110 people giving $20 each, one time, we'll raise the needed monies. I will post results regularly so you all know where we stand. I think you get the idea.
Will you help me send this young lady to University? She has already shown she has the potential to be a leder in her nation. We need the first payment by October 8. Thanks for helping us help this deserving young woman who will be impacting others.
Please note: I was introduced to the Magwaza family by a friend here in New Jersey about 4 years ago. A small group of us have helped Adonia, his family, and their church family to build a church through our own non profit. For this need I felt we needed a broader reach. Because of the financial situation in Zimbabwe, when I withdraw funds from this account, they will be sent via my office Western Union account to insure we get the highest conversion rate which is presently dollar for dollar, the maximum that can be done. We get receipts verifying how monies have been spent. Funds are transferred to Adonia, Sandra's father who is responsible to see that the bills are paid and that we get receipts.
