McGee's Pallative Care

Donation protected
Hello! My name is Michelle, but I am also known as the fandom writer Phylix.

On January 2nd, I noticed that my 5 year old tabby, McGee was having issues with his bladder. I took him in on January 5th to his primary care vet to find out that what was going on was much more complicatedband extreme than a simple UTI.

After two days at both his primary care vet and the emergency vet, we determined that his abdomen was filled with fluids and there was an unknown, underlying cause.

After x-rays, an ultrasound, and bloodwork, the cause of the fluids is still unknown, but the likely cause is the big C, cancer.

Currently, even if I continued having the wonderful vet care team poke and prod my boy, there would be very little they could do for him besides invasive procedures that would only extend his life by a few months and leave him with a diminished quality of life.

I made the difficult decision to bring him home and start a comfort and care regime that would give him the quality of life that he deserves.

While I have done everything I can to make sure my furry compantion is taken care of, the vet bills-- especially the emergency vet care clinic bills-- have been a drain on my already tight resources, leaving me with almost $1000 dollars in debt. Please, if you are able to help in any way, that would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you so much,

Michelle and McGee
