Hello All,
I am going out on a limb here, doing something that does not come easy; asking for help.
As many of you know my family consists of my Father, Mike, my sister Megan and I. My dad raised my sister and i by him self with the help of our family and friends. He has always worked more than full time to make ends meat and take care of us, as well as others.
Over all we learned that you take care of your family before anything else.
Earlier this summer my dad went in for a check up because he thought he may be having heart issues. (Heart problems run in our family)
It wasn't the case, my dad got diagnosed with Colon Cancer. He surprisingly handled the shocking news very well and started taking action. Going to the appointments and meeting with the specialist. The medication that my father was needing to take would make him terribly sick and weak. My father's work days got shorter and he also started taking days off, which he never does. My sister has to drive him to his appointments because he is not capable. She has had to miss her classes to help out my father. Along with going to school full time she was trying to hold a job. It got to be to much of scheduling complications for her to keep it so she recently put her notice in. September 13th my father went in for surgery. It took a little over 7 hours, and you can believe that my sister was there before, during, and after. My sister is a strong woman, i needed to be there for them.  All i could do is fly in last minuet after the surgery and stay for a couple days. It was heartbreaking. My father recovered exceptionally fast at the hospital, it was great to see! Getting discharged early and getting set up at home for the rest of the recovery. We waited for the biopsy results and it came back at stage 2 Colon Cancer. He will start Chemotherepy this coming week and this process can take months. The most negative news hasn't even been the Cancer, earlier this week my father got illegally fired from his job. Its shocking and scary because we are not sure when he will be well enough to start working again.
I live in Montana, i moved out here a few years ago, i fully support myself and have started Yoga Teacher Training and am commited to be here for the next few months. From not being there and not have anything more to offer to help my family, its one of the hardest feelings to digest.
I don't know what else to do.
I understand life throws you curve balls, but we just need help handling this one.
So again, i am asking for help. My father and sister have no idea about this, and id like to keep it that way. Non of us are great at asking for help because we always figure it out. I will be blocking them from these posts and i would appriciate your help doing that as well. This money will be going towards their rent and bills to keep them chugging along. I fully understand that not everyone is able to donate, but even 10 dollars can go a long way. If your unable to donate i would love it if you would share this page with people that you know. Thank you for taking the time to read.
