MBR's Run Against Cancer

In 2018, my younger brother Casey Mullooly was diagnosed with Chronic Myeloid Leukemia (CML).  This news completely shook my world.  If you know the Mullooly family, you know that my two brothers aren't just my brothers, they're also my best friends in the world. 

Luckily, over the last few months, Casey has made remarkable progress and is doing his best to live his life to the fullest.  The doctors, medicine, and cancer research available to him have quite literally saved his life. 

Watching him suffer and fight CML has been one of the most difficult things I've ever had to do.  I've always done my best to protect my little brother, and in this instance I felt helpless.  I wanted to find a way to help.

I will be running in the JSRC RunAPalooza Half-Marathon in Asbury Park, NJ on April 6, 2019, and I figured this would be a great cause to raise some money for cancer research.  The charities associated with the JSRC and the race (Special Olympics of NJ & Jersey Shore Dream Center ) are both fantastic organizations, but I wanted to run for cause a little closer to my own heart.

I wanted to do something in return to not only show my gratitude to the doctors and hospitals and everyone involved with Casey's treatment so far, but to also hopefully help anyone else who has cancer, or who will eventually be diagnosed.  Nobody should have to go through life with cancer, but if they do, let's have the absolute BEST research and medicine possible to help cure it!

I know I'm only one person, and I know one half-marathon fundraiser isn't going to end cancer, but it absolutely can help!  Any sort of donation, whether it's $1, $10, $100 or more will go straight to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society .  For more info on the organization, you can visit their website linked above!
