Mazikeens Fight- Gastroschisis

Donation protected
On July 15th, 2018, a beautiful baby girl named Mazikeen Array Hall was born six weeks early with Gastroschisis. This condition occurs when an opening forms in the baby's abdominal wall. The baby's bowel then pushes through this opening and develops outside of the baby's body in the amniotic fluid which can hurt the said bowels.
After Birth little Mazi underwent surgery due to her stomach partially closing and cutting off blood flow to the exposed intestines. This closing is a rare complication of gastroschisis and was unable to be seen on the ultrasound. Further treatment to correct this birth defect was only partially successful.
She emerged from surgery with 29 cm of small intestine instead of the normal 150 cm.
Little Mazi is still at the children's hospital unable to go home with her mom and dad. Attempts to try and feed Mazi have been unsuccessful. Tubes are still in place to drain her stomach and she receives her nutrition through IV TPN and lipids. Her parents were recently advised additional surgery would be necessary later on to try and lengthen her small Intestine.

Her parents and family want to sincerely thank the doctors and staff here at the Minnesota Children's Hospital. They have been so amazing and supportive. They have dried our tears and celebrated Little Mazikeens triumphs every step of the way.
As you can imagine, Baby Mazikeens condition has placed huge financial stress on this young family. If anyone can possibly donate funds to help absorb costs, travel expenses and post care, we would be eternally grateful. Any amount will help and be greatly appreciated.

This is an amazing, precious little Girl who has quite the battle ahead of her.

Thank you for your love, kindness and compassion.
