Mayo Surgeries 2014

Makenna is 14 years old. She loves animals and adores her big and little brothers and twin cousins. Makenna truly has a heart of gold. She has made many friends who support here and comes from a huge family consisting of parents, aunts, uncles, cousins and many grandparents. Makenna was diagnosed with familial adenomatous polyposis, a genetic disease of the colon and intestines in September of 2013.   She underwent her first surgery to remove the colon and intestines on December 16th of 2013.  After going septic she was re-admitted on New Year's Eve and underwent a second surgery on January 4th to place an ostomy.  The disease started spreading and mutating fast and was referred to Mayo in March of this year.  Makenna went through a multiple of scans and tests where they found that the disease had spread to an area around the stomach.   She is scheduled for surgery in Minnesota on December 22nd and another on the 23rd.  She will have the ostomy removed and a partial removal of the area affected around the stomach.  Her medical supplies along with the huge amount of hospiral bills and travel have done a huge number on us financially.  We ask that whatever you are able to do donate including prayers are appreciated.  There are no specialists here that are experienced enough in her disease to do the surgery, so travel to Minnesota is our only option.  I had to redo campaign here due to the goal not being able to reset from our campaign last year.  Thank you for all your support.
