Hi Everyone,
My name is Max I just turned 48 years old and have been in the field of addiction for almost eight years now. I began my journey almost 13 years ago when I decided enough was enough and decided to get sober it has been one crazy journey but one I would not trade for anything. I have met some of the most amazing people who have pushed me to better myself. I have been a substance abuse counselor for almost 8 years now and love every minute of it, that is why I decided to go back to school and get my education. I am 2 class away from graduating with my Bachelors degree in Psychology, but I have a balance which I have been informed will keep me from finishing. I am trying to raise this money so I can pay off this balance and graduate. My next step will be to attend graduate school so I can be the best I can be for the people I serve. This money will be used to pay off this balance and to help with any expenses that may arise. I would not normally ask for this kind of help but I want to show people that recovery does happen and that it is okay to Aask for help. I have exhausted all my financial aid and continue to apply for scholarships but to no avail. There are no words to describe what this would mean but I would be the first of my siblings to graduate with a 4 year college degree and it would show my children you are never to old to learn. Most of all I would make my mother proud to see her son graduate with a college degree since she has worked so hard to provide for all of her 7 children. I am so grateful to even have this opportunity to go to school that it is my life's mission to help those who still suffer from the disease of addiction.
