Maxine (mom) had bypass surgery and it should have been uneventful, however, mom falls into that 2%, if it can go wonky, it will!
She was only supposed to be at USC for 5 maybe 6 days.
She had been having some kidney function issues after the surgery and yesterday, and they failed.
She is in a medical induced coma right now while they stabilze her, her heart, her blood pressure, and she is on 24 hour dialysis right now. She is currently on a resperator because she was not breathing 'well enough' on her own.
Larry and I are in LA @ USC with her. We are staying accross the street at Currie Hall. They are dorms, they have a dozen set aside for patients families. They have full kitchen set ups so I am able to cook meals for us. Thats the fortuante part. The hard part is they cost $200.00 a night, then factor in meals, we are about $250.00 a day. We were blessed with a $ 700.00 gift to help pay for the first 5 days, but are now asking for more help. Moms out of pocket is also $6700.00 per year, so If she has to stay here past 12/31, that starts all over.
I know it is the holiday season and its a hard time of the year to give, but if you can help offset the cost for mom and Larry, it would be greatly appreciated and aleviate a bit of stress.
