Amy (Uraynar) Clarke’s Fight
I’m Tami - an RN, a coworker, and a close friend to Amy Clarke. I am part of Amy’s Army, a group of awesome people helping Amy and her husband, Alan, fight, for the second time, the “C-word”.....cancer. I’ve never done a GoFundMe and am not experienced with fundraising; however, this is desperately needed so I’m going to give it my best shot! For those of you that know Amy, you’re already aware of how awesome and selfless she is, you know she has battled cancer before, you know she’s a fighter, and you know she has a heart of gold. To those of you that have never met Amy, let me introduce you!
Amy is 41 and lives in Superior, WI. She was married to Alan in Aug. of 2014. Alan proposed on Amy’s last day of chemo in 2013. Amy loves the outdoors and that is where she spends most of her time. She has three dogs - Kimber, Yoda, and Aspen that she absolutely adores, and sadly on Nov. 5th had to say goodbye to her fourth dog, Murph, due to seizures. She raised chickens up until her diagnosis, at which time she had to rehome them. She gardens, cooks, and cans things.....I want to learn some of her tricks!
Amy battled Stage 3 rectal cancer in 2012-2013. She had surgeries to remove the rectum, create a J-pouch, and reverse an ileostomy. She had radiation and chemo and, amazingly, Amy was cancer-free as of Oct. of 2014. Around Aug. of 2020, Amy started having intense back pain, some chest pain, and had the feeling something just wasn’t right. She was treated for reflux, continued to have issues, and finally went to the ER for chest pain. She had an x-ray which showed a large mass in her lung. After a lengthy workup, Amy was diagnosed with Stage 4 rectal cancer of the lung, or rectal cancer that has metastasized to the lung. She will start her first round of chemo on Nov. 16th, continuous infusion Mon-Wed, and go every two weeks until they do more scanning to see how the cancer is responding to the chemo. Amy has a fight ahead, and she and her army are READY!!
I am hoping to raise funds to help alleviate financial stress for Amy and Alan. Amy is unable to work and has moved to her parents home 6 hours away from Alan to receive treatment at her previous cancer treatment center. Alan is traveling back and forth as much as he possibly can while still working to pay bills. Medical bills are already piling up, not to mention Alan being the only source of income now.
EVERY.SINGLE.DOLLAR.HELPS!! Every prayer, every thought, every penny is appreciated. If God brings you to it, God will bring you through it!! I hope that you will join me in helping Amy fight for her life!! I can’t think of a person more deserving!!
