Fundraiser for Maureen Farrell

Donation protected
Thank you for taking the time to visit, read and pray for Maureen, her two children, Shannon age 13 and Patrick age 16.  Back in May of 2014 Maureen was carrying on with her life like most people.  She is a single mom and working full-time as a Dental Hygienist.  She had taken a small fall down her basement stairs and bruised her back.   Several weeks later she still had pain on one side. Not being too concerned, she went to the doctor to have it checked. The doctor ordered an MRI and that is where her life would change forever.  The images revealed a large malignant tumor in her lumbar spine that was completely compromising the integrity of her spine.  Surgery would be required to remove the cancer and reinforce the spine with pins and plates.  A 10 hour surgery was performed the following day.  Miraculously she has healed well from that procedure but she is still fighting a rare cancer called Lyeromyscomia

On February 10th,, 2015 Maureen is having another major surgery to remove another tumor wrapped around the Vena Cava and, also, may involve the intestine as well.  The recovery from this surgery will be a long a difficult battle.

Leiomyosarcoma is a rare form of cancer.  It is a cancer of the smooth muscle and can occur in many areas of the body.  Doctors believe that her cancer started from uterine tissue. Unfortunately the tumors spread and can grow in other areas of the body as in Maureen's case. Chemotherapy and radiation are useful to get the cancer into remission, however there is currently no known cure for this disease.

Maureen is a Dental Hygienist.  Because of the high exposure to germs in the dentistry field and her compromised immune system, Maureen has been unable to work since her diagnosis back in May. She has been surviving on her savings that is depleting quickly and disability.

To describe Maureen in one word it would be LOVING! She is a devote Christian who attends mass frequently and leads a Christian life.  She gives so much love to those who know her and to those who don't.  Those who know her can attest that she will always have a smile on her face, make a joke to put a smile on your face, and only have kind words to say about life and people.  She is selfless. She is a wonderful mother.  She is a sister you can count on.  She is a stranger that will give you her hand...

Maureen now needs our hands and act of kindness and generosity. The funds donated will go to an account that will help her and her children with everyday living expenses such as her rent, food, utilities, car insurance as well as medications.  Also, aside from everyday living expenses, a small getaway to be pampered, to connect with her children and to reflect and focus on healing.

Please take the time to pray for healing and to give a donation to her fund.  Any amount you can give is filled with gratitude and prayers.
