Matt's Monthly Expenses, Covid Complications

On Monday, Dec. 13th, my Husband, Matt, was diagnosed with Covid. On Tuesday, Dec. 14th, myself and our twin daughters tested positive. Our son, luckily, was negative. By Wednesday evening, Matt was having a difficult time breathing and his o2 had dropped significantly. After a visit to the ER, he was admitted to the hospital and was transferred to the ICU by Thursday morning. After labs and imaging, it was confirmed that he had not only developed Covid Pneumonia but Bacterial Pneumonia as well. They currently have him on Dexamethasone, Redemsivir and Azithromycin. They were giving him antibody infusions but his labs for his Liver were off so they have stopped those for now. He is on a high-flow nasal cannula as well as a supplemental mask at a very high level of Oxygen in order to keep his o2 level at 90%. He is tired and weak. He is moving as much as possible and doing breathing treatments/exercises to stimulate his lungs. He is stable but has a long road to recovery and it could be weeks before he can leave the hospital.

Matt is the breadwinner and the sole income for our household. We have always been blessed just enough for me to be able to be a stay-at-home Mom and concentrate on our kids Medical issues and frequent appointments/therapies/procedures that they have to endure.

With Matt in the ICU, we have no income coming in. We have a little in savings to help with the next few weeks but that will only stretch so far. He is looking at possible long-term damage to his lungs and once he's home, he will likely be unable to immediately return to work until his strength/endurance and lung capacity is built back up.

Matt wanted me to start this GoFundMe because, even though he's the one in the ICU, he is already worrying about not being able to support his family. And to everyone who knows him, his family is his everything.

Any donations will be used for Monthly rent, utilities, groceries and general household expenses over the next few months..

I know that it's the Holidays and the last couple of years have been hard on everyone financially but, any little bit will help. And we promise to 'Pay it Forward' as soon as we are back in a position to make that happen.
