Matthew's Fight Against Cancer

Hello family and friends,
Our family recently received disheartening news that my older brother Matthew Lee Dawson has stage IV colon cancer at just 40 years old. It has matastasized to his liver and they are holding off on major surgery to begin chemotherapy.
To tell his story, he's had a rough few years. In addition to his new-found cancer, Matthew also has diabetes, which has had him in and out of the hospital over the last year with extremely high blood sugar. On top of that, Matthew previously was an executive in the banking business, but was laid off and has had trouble finding gainful employment since. He just can't seem to catch a break.
Matthew has health insurance through August 6, 2017, but after that he will have to pay a hefty monthly sum for Cobra. He doesn't have any savings due to his employment struggles over the last few years. My mom is helping him to apply for disability, SSI and medical assistance, but these things take time and there is no guarantee that he will receive any financial aid.
Matthew is the proud father of Hayden, who is only 10 years old...too young to lose his Dad. Hayden will be Matthew's motivation to fight, and I do not want financial stress to be an additional burden to Matthew and my family during this already difficult time.
If there is anything you can spare whether it's prayers or a financial contribution, every little bit will help to ensure Matthew receives the care and treatment he needs. He will be relocating to South Carolina to be with my Mom and Rich where he will undergo chemo therapy as soon as he heals from his colostomy procedure.
