Matthew Pickering Medical Fund

Good day to you all! This is a collection page for Matt Pickering a fellow Journeyman working for Miller Electric Company. Matt was recently in a car accident while working out of town in Mobile, AL. and suffered a fractured hip in two places as well as a head injury while on his way to work early the morning of 12/8/20.

Matt's vehicle was totaled in the crash and he has spent the past couple days in the local hospital in Mobile to monitor his situation. The doctors thankfully said the Head and chest CT's are clear and they are hopeful that the injury will not require surgery, however best case scenario he will be out of commission for a few months. The plan is to continue treatment back home in Jacksonville, FL. which will require physical therapy well past the few month mark.

If you have had the pleasure of working with Matt, you will already know of his decent character. He is an intelligent and competent electrician, and a very funny and kind friend. a hard worker who came up through his apprenticeship in Miller's industrial division, and as most good help goes, he has bounced around between divisions and left an impression where ever he goes.

We are asking for your help with donations for the Pickering family during this holiday time that he is thankfully still able to share with them. He had just bought a camper specifically for the out of town work, a totaled vehicle, and insurance and hospital bills on top of Christmas in 2020. 

We wish the best for Matt and his Wife and four children and for a speedy recovery. Please keep them in your thoughts and prayers, and thank you sincerely for any assistance you can spare. 2020 has been an stressful year to say the least so please, be safe. Accidents can happen to anyone at any time, so hold your loved ones close, and do everything you can during your day to make it back to them. We are all very fortunate that he is still with us.
