Okay, I know that GoFundMe campaigns are usually for charity or worthy causes, and it could seem egotistical and selfish to crowdfund my own birthday party, but...
I am blessed with a great family and very good friends, some of whom I've known most, if not all, of my life. I don't want any presents for my milestone 50th birthday, but I do want to throw a party for my friends, my family, and myself that is all at once, a celebration of life and and a celebration of some of my favorite things: Halloween, Dia de los Meurtos, and costuming/make-believe in general.
The venue is my favorite bar, Casey's Drexel Hill. Light appetizers will be served. I've booked one of my favorite bands This Way to the Egress, which just so happens to fit the party's theme perfectly. Instead of presents, I'm asking those who want give me something to donate to this GoFundMe to help defray the costs of this celebration.
NOTE: Is the image above cheesy? Yes, yes it is. This is the mood of the party I plan to throw. An ecclectic medley of Halloween, Dia de los Muertos, and Masquerade. Costumes (of any kind!) are strongly encouraged for this extravaganza!
