On May 14th our dear friend Matthew "Elmo" Vannicola Sr passed away. As the saying goes " The brightest candles burn out the quickest." Matthew lit up every room and every interaction he had with most people. There is never a good time to be called to God's side, but in this case "Elmo" leaves behind his son Matthew Vannicola Jr. Little Matty as he is known, had not only graduated from high school the week before, he had just turned 18.
Little Matty is listed as next of kin and instantly endowed with all of the responsibility that comes with that title. Lil Matty, like most recent high school graduates, barely has enough money to feed himself let alone act as executor of an estate. While Elmo's family is taking care of the funeral expenses, there are still many expenses left for Little Matty to be burdened with. We have decided to start this gofundme to try and take some of the financial burden away for him and let him concentrate on mourning for his father. I understand that we all have our own financial responsibilities, but please think back to when you were just 18. The funds will be used to pay for a storage unit to hold Elmo's belongings while Matty takes inventory of items and distributes as necessary. The funds will also be used for college text books and supplies for Matty, as well as other related educational items. Please understand that your donation will not be used to fuel an 18 year olds whims, but to make sure he gets a fair start in his adult life. Thank you for your donation!
