Matt Senters & Family

My name is Nicole Sheridan and I have known Matt and his family for over 12 years now. He is a faithful friend and loyal co-worker to many. All donations will go directly to him and his family for medical and travel expenses or other expenses as they walk this journey. I reached out to his wife, Brandi and asked if she could tell their story. Thank you ahead of time for supporting this beautiful family!

Over the past year, Matt has experienced minor ailments that many would consider a hindrance of age and lack of good health more than disease. Several visits to see his primary doctor resulted in nothing more than an assumption that a virus was the culprit. On March 4th this year, he noticed that a small lump had dramatically grown in size. I felt uneasy waiting days to be seen and asked Matt to visit the Emergency Room for a quicker response. This visit revealed our fears, it was a form of Lymphoma but an appointment with an oncologist and surgeon would provide which type and the stage. On March 17th, Matt was diagnosed with Nodular Lymphocyte Predominant Hodgkins Lymphoma, a rare subtype. It is a treatable cancer and as we are praising Jesus for this news, he is not tolerating chemotherapy as we hoped. We know that he WILL overcome this journey and appreciate the overwhelming prayers for his healing!

The same week he received this news, our daughter Addison was diagnosed with Chiari Malformation on top of her very complex medical conditions. Addison is a brilliant girl with an unwavering faith. She has not let her tracheostomy and ventilator stop her from accomplishing dreams. Her cerebellum is falling from her skull and creating a large cyst narrowing her spinal cord in her back. To complicate things further, her case is the most complex neurosurgeons have ever seen. We have hopes that one of the top neurosurgeons in the nation, located in New York City; will accept her. If not, we will travel to Seattle to see another surgeon that is recommended.

Matthew also has two other children. A son that went to be with the Lord after birth in 2010 and a spunky, beautiful 7 year old daughter, Sadie Rae. He is the primary supporter for their family as his wife is the caregiver for their oldest medical needs and accompanies her to school. Through this entire journey since the birth of his oldest, he has been employed by Trane. A testament to the amazing company that has stood by his side with positive encouragement and fervent prayer. He adores his work and the people that encompass it. As his wife and best friend, I thank you!
