Matt Hagert Recovery

In January 2018 Matt Hagert was admitted to the ICU with a high fever. He was diagnosed with Sepsis, stemming from a cut on his leg that would not heal. Matt spent several days in the ICU, but was released with ongoing treatment plans.
On March 2nd, Matt returned to the hospital with a bad cough. He was admitted into the ICU and is currently entering his second week there. His diagnosis was Sepsis, and Pneumonia. Matt was intubated, and sedated on Monday March 6th.
Matt has been fighting off these infections, and doctors have found the Sepsis is under control. Matt has developed ARDS which is the primary concern at this point. On March 8th Matt was put into a medically induced Coma and continues to be in critical condition.
Matt, his wife Becky and his 2 little girls Emma and Lilly will have a long road for Matt’s recovery. This diagnosis has brought on emotional, and financial burden for this amazing family. The medical expenditures, and time away from work will become substantial costs.
The Hagert Family is one full of kindness, generosity, and love. They have this unique ability to pull out the best in a person. Matt is a renaissance man who knows so much about everything (just ask him haha) but is so giving of his time to teach others. Becky is a kind, loving mother who knows how to keep Matt in line and knows no boundaries of helping all in need. Their girls light up the room, and sometimes tear it apart (Lilly!!!) but it’s my honor to call this family my friends!
