Maternal Health-Safe and Dignified Delivery

So many women in my home country Zimbabwe, have had to give birth in poor conditions without basic supplies needed for safe delivery. Some of these women have even had the indignity of giving birth in the open air, outside of health facilities.

Some friends and I have been touched by this terrible situation and decided to do something about it. Our new non-profit organization Garikai Health is distributing safe-delivery packs to pregnant women in need in Zimbabwe so that their delivery is safe and hygienic.

After the success of our pilot project in November 2021, we created this platform to amplify the call for help as the need is great. In March 2022, another consignment of 50 birth packs to women in Kuwadzana, Harare, was again successful in ensuring safe and dignified delivery. We are more than encouraged especially with your donations to see more women attain safe delivery as the need remains great with a goal of delivering 50 birth packs in June 2022. We ask for your donations to achieve this goal.

For $25 dollars, each woman receives a delivery kit with some essential items needed for safe delivery at her local clinic (bucket to carry water, surgical gloves, surgical blades and suturing material, umbilical cord clamps, cotton wool, swabs, and sanitary towels, surgical antiseptic, and soap, baby receiving blanket and hat and linen savers).
