Mason’s Surgery

Mason has craniosynostosis which means that his plates in his head have fused together too soon and incorrectly. Causing his head to not form round and form lengthwise. He will go in for a 5-6hr surgery with the plastic and neuro surgeon on Dec 8th. They will go in and break his skull into pieces and the plastic surgeon will rebuild his skull so that it will grow into a round shape with his brain. He will be in the ICU for at least a day, maybe 2 depending on how he is. Then spend at least 4 days on the post op neuro floor. We will go back a week later for a check up. He will then require a 3 month, 6 month, and yearly check up.
