Homemade Masks to the Front Line:
We Love our Community!
Healthcare workers and first responders are still increasing their risk of exposure by having to reuse masks and personal protective equipment (PPE) due to the #COVID-19 shortage. In order to help prevent the spread of the virus and flatten the curve, our HEROES continue to need our help.
In mid-March, Wanda and her team from Wanda’s Perfect Stitch as well as 6 other area residents and Bank’s Vacuum (https://banksvac.com/) joined to mass-produce face masks and filters for our local fight against COVID-19. Nearly 2000 masks will have been donated by mid-April to many area hospitals as well as Fire and Police departments and others on the front the line in the Tri-County area. However, many more masks are needed.
With your monetary donations on this gofundme, we will continue to purchase high-thread-count cotton material, necessary thread and elastic in bulk and be able to make more masks.
We will also gladly accept unused, tightly woven cotton material and/or ¼ inch elastic. If you would like to volunteer to help cut the filters from Mr Bank's vacuum bags (it is best if you have a paper or rotary cutter) please send your contact information to [email redacted] or wandasperfectstitch.com . We will arrange how to get the materials to you along with instructions of how to cut the bags into filters.
