Our Synott Islamic Center has been your place of Ibadah (worship), Quran classes, and Islamic Education since we first opened in a small shopping strip on Synott Road in 1979.
But did you know our Synott Islamic Center has always been on the forefront in serving our community with our Social Services programs? It was the first to establish a Zakat program to give charity locally. The first to host a Medical Clinic on site.
And more recently, Synott Islamic Center became a distribution center during the Hurricane Harvey Recovery. Our Center went a step further and distributed backpacks filled with school supplies to 2,300 students at 3 schools that were hit hardest during Hurricane Harvey.
We continue to serve our greater community with projects designed to help our local community such as our monthly food distribution through the Houston Food Bank program, fostering projects for our youth to work with the local Fort Bend Women’s Shelter to help survivors of Domestic Abuse, and supporting our orphans at adoption agencies.
And all of this was possible through our donor contributions!!
We are in the middle of this COVID-19 pandemic and our ISGH Masajid are closed, but our Synott Islamic Center continues to serve the local community that has been hit the hardest during this lockdown. We continue our food drives, support our local Zakat recipients, and have been serving iftar every night to those that need food assistance.
None of this is possible without your support. Please contribute to our General Funds for Masjid At-Taqwa (Synott Islamic Center) to maintain our operations.
