Maryjane hospital treatment

Hi there! Maryjane is my 7 year old miniature Australian Shepherd. I have had her since she was a baby and she has been my best asset for 7 years. Mary was just diagnosed with an auto-immune disorder where the cause is unknown by even the best neurologist in Denver. She was a perfectly healthy dog until last Thursday, 3/29, where she lost her ability to walk regularly and her health rapidly decreased when on Monday, 4/6, she was unable to stand or do any day-to-day functions. She was admitted to the ER on Monday and given immediate treatment. Her MRI came back negative for tumors or cancers,  however, the neurologist found that she has inflamed nerves. To make things simple, her immune system got kicked into overdrive from an unknown reason. This caused her white blood cells to double in number and then start to attack her nervous system- which caused her inability to function within days.  She is still in the hospital getting chemo therapy and a high dose of steroids. She is also on a cocktail of medications to help support her immune system, GI track, and inflammation as she is getting the chemo therapy and steroid treatments for inflamed nerves. Mary has been the best dog I have ever owned. It was an easy decision to make to not put her down and try to get her to a full recovery. The unfortunate part is that the hospitalization and treatment comes with a pretty penny. It is the hardest thing to ask for help, but we need the help now. Mary deserves the best life without misery. She is a beacon of light and if you have ever met her, you can agree with the fact that she has been the best support I could have asked for when times have been rough. I can not see Mary's health go downhill so fast and know that there is a road to recovery and not try. I am a teacher, so any amount would greatly help the payments.
