Mary's Wedding play in Toronto

MARY’S WEDDING - A CANADIAN CLASSIC  

The Remembrance Collective is raising funds to bring Mary’s Wedding by Stephen Massicotte to Crows Theatre . Mary’s Wedding  is one of the great Canadian plays of the twenty-first century. It tells the story of a young woman who, on the eve of her wedding, dreams about the boy she fell in love with and his terrible journey to the trenches of France. Hauntingly beautiful and imaginative in its portrayal of love and loss, of courage and hope, this play is an important reminder of the devastating toll war takes on all those it touches, and of the sacrifices that so many Canadians made a hundred years ago in the Great War.

This great play, directed by Kent Staines and starring Kate Ross and Fraser Elsdon, is set to be staged at Crows Theatre for its first ever professional production in Toronto.  We are seeking funds to help with the production costs of the play.  Any profits over and above the production budget will go to WOUNDED WARRIORS  a registered Canadian charity that honours and supports our Canadian Armed Forces members, veterans and their families as they return to non-combat roles and civilian life.
