Please help Mary Cundiff through her Battle with Lung Cancer.
My friend, Mary Cundiff, is currently battling Stage 3, Lung Cancer.
Mary is a wonderful person and needs our help. Anyone who knows her, knows she is an honest, hardworking woman. She always helps anyone she can. She has always been a giver and finds it difficult being a receiver.
On her birthday in May, she was notified that her adult son was murdered. Some of you so kindly helped her through that struggle. She was so thankful. On her son’s birthday in August, she was diagnosed with this. She has had such hardship & heartbreak lately. She desperately needs our help.
Her current treatment plan is Chemotherapy 3 days per week every 3 weeks for a total of 12 rounds. At the same time, she is also having Radiation treatments 5 days per week for 6 weeks. She is unable to work.
She does have Health Insurance, but it does not cover all of her expenses, especially, loss of income.
Mary is self-employed and does not get sick pay. The loss of income has been devastating. Without her income, they are having difficulty paying the basic household bills, let alone groceries, Nutritional Supplements (she must have these as she is not always able to hold solid food down) and gas to and from treatments 5 days per week. Her car broke down today and they do not have the funds to get it fixed right away. The additional stress only adds to the uncertainty of her future as she battles this disease.
Mary raises her granddaughter who is a Senior in High School. She is an honor student and a member of the band. She helps Mary with chores around the house, grocery shopping, takes her to appointments and is a great girl.
Mary would like her to be able to participate in all the special activities that come with being a Senior. Her High School band will be performing in the Holiday Bowl California in December and each family is responsible for paying $750 for the student to be able to attend. There are also band equipment fees, college exam fees, AP testing fees, graduation fees and many other expenses that go along with her education.
With this financial stress, it is hard for Mary to keep a positive attitude, which is imperative to deal with the major life changes she is experiencing.
This has been sent up under Mary’s name, so all funds will go directly to her.
I am asking for help on behalf of my dear friend. I hope you will consider helping Mary and her family through this.
