Mary and Charles Sherman

Charles and Mary Sherman are in their mid 70's and reside outside of Portland, Oregon. Charles has been giving riding lessons and training horses for fifty years and is a graduate of Morven Park International Equestrian Institute. Charles has patiently taught many horses, students and even handicapped students over the years and is still teaching lessons to this day. 

Mary was a Travel agent for forty years and is now retired and struggles with various health issues. She volunteered hours and hours into various horse events and programs to benefit children and adults both over the years. Last year she was hospitalized frequently due to congestive heart failure, virtually no kidney function and diabetes. She has required three times a week trips to kidney dialysis since to stay alive. Charles is her main caregiver and still works as a riding instructor. 

Charles and Mary met in New Jersey in 1968 at a party and married in 1969. They love each other tremendously and have as a couple contributed so much to society.  They have a heavy burden of bills from her hospitalization and I am hoping to help them enjoy their remaining years together as much as possible by helping them with that burden.
