Heartland All Species Project continues to help the urban community understand and work to mitigate climate change and adapt to its effects. We are at a point where we need more than volunteer help. We could do so much more. We would like to hire an intern who is in Environmental Studies at UMKC. This person will assist with our carbon sequestering program: making biochar; promoting the making of biochar on city blocks and in neighborhoods; demonstrating the benefits of no till growing; balancing the microbial content of the soil; and, the use of cover crops. With this extra help we will be able to better promote the formation of small block and neighborhood groups where neighbors can work together finding ways to cut down their ecological footprint. We cannot depend on national and governmental efforts to touch people on the block. Please support our efforts. For more information see tracygarden.org .
