On Christmas morning, December 25th, P/O Maritza Matos's (26th District Victim Assistance Officer) house caught on fire. Her son escaped the fire but her belongings were destroyed/damage from the fire, smoke and water. She is without clothing, uniforms, essentials...etc. We're asking for donations of gift cards (Walmart, Target, VISA...etc). She is a 21 yr veteran of the department and is currently in temporary housing until further arrangements can be made.
All donations can be forwarded to the 26th District captain's office or you can contact me directly.
