❤️❤️ As it's been said; when someone has cancer, the whole family and everyone who loves them does too. ❤️❤️
At a time when most were counting their blessings and giving thanks, (Nov. 2017) we found our dear brother Martin was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. Although the shock to the entire family was a bit overwhelming, we focused mainly on the silver lining. We thank God he had severe pain from pancreatitis and went on to seek medical attention immediately. After loads of tests and a biopsy, it was confirmed he had a cancerous mass growing on his pancreas. The silver lining being that most pancreatic cancer patients don't detect the cancer until it is inoperable, leaving them with very limited options to live beyond a year or two.
Since Thanksgiving, Martin has undergone a Whipple procedure (surgery) to remove the mass on his pancreas and detach and reattach portions of his digestive system. His surgery was a success and he is currently recuperating at home. Unfortunately, Pancreatic cancer has an 80% chance of reoccurring so Martin is not out of the woods just yet. He will need to have further treatments and a lifelong commitment to his diet and exercise.
We are asking today for as many prayers, well wishes, and if you are able, a small donation to assist in the already insurmountable medical bills. Martin has been unable to work for months as he is recuperating.
If we ban together we can all make this an easier path for Martin in helping any which way we can.
If you know Martin personally, he has endured obstacles in his life, but has always found the strength to persevere. This is another obstacle we can all assist Martin by overcoming this terrible disease with the power of prayer, spiritual wishes and assist in easing the financial burden on his family and loved ones.
