Marshmallow Treatment

If you are familiar with us here at Dog and Scone, you will be familiar with Marshmallow, our amazing little Maltese terrier. She is such a beloved and important member of our family, and she's touched so many hearts over the years, but mainly ours.

Over the past few weeks, her health has unfortunately deteriorated massively. She has been suffering from seizures, low blood sugar, strange mood changes, and is now showing signs of some serious neurological issues due to unusual walking patterns and disorientation. This has all arose very suddenly, so we are still in a slight state of shock, especially considering she has never had a health scare prior to this.

The vets have been amazing with Marshmallow over the last couple of weeks, but unfortunately they have exhausted all options in terms of tests and checks they can perform on her. This has left us with the agonising decision between euthanasia, or to send her to a specialist to undergo a series of treatment, including an MRI scan to hopefully lead us towards a clearer diagnosis.

We feel so deeply in our hearts that it would not be right to let her go without trying every possible option we have available to try and help her.

There has been no mention or signs of Mallow being in pain so far; just very confused and panicked.

The treatment she requires is not a quick-fix; we are aware it will not instantly cure her, but it will definitely be a step in the right direction towards hopefully finding out the underlying issue she's going through.

The money we are raising will be going towards her ongoing treatment, any operations or medication needed and MRI scan; it is not cheap and our emergency funds have only covered so much. We rely a lot on the cafe for our income, and we still need to ensure we have enough to provide care for each of our other dogs, however this sort of money would set us back months worth from the cafes income that is very much needed for the welfare of our entire fur-family. So for the first time ever, we are asking for your help.

We appreciate any and all donations, and we will still do our best to make up the total amount even if the goal is not reached, as we will still be paying the majority of the cost ourselves. Even if you cannot donate, any type of sharing or just generally getting the word out would help us massively. We will also be selling some charity art prints in the cafe which will 100% go towards this.

We will always do the best for Marshmallow and all our other dogs. If at any point we are advised that shes in pain or suffering too much, we will make the fairest decision we can and do whatever is best for her. For now, however, we really don't want money to be a factor of what's holding us back from trying everything we possibly can to save her.
