———-

Hi,

We're raising funds to help support the first group of artists who donated their time and supplies to help beautify the old Arthur and Pat's in Marshfield.

- AND to fund new art for another wall or two in town!

We've spoken with several business owners who have properties they'd like to spruce up. When you're struggling to stay afloat as a business it's hard to set aside money and time for art and to paint, so we're hoping to bridge the gap, that way everyone can benefit. Businesses get a new wall, the neighbors get some new art and Marshfield looks better.

To answer several of the lovely people who offered donations over the past few weeks, I have established this GoFundMe to make sure the first wave of artists at Arthur and Pats are tipped out beyond inital compensation.

AND so we can drum up enough to do another wall or two in town. If you can't make a monetary donation, we'll be looking for paint and supplies. At the very least give the artists a follow on Instagram and a 'thank you' for sharing their art or just share this story.

If you've not seen anything like this before, I'd direct you check out similar efforts in Massachusetts like  Pow Wow Worcester , Beyond Walls Lynn , the Urban Art Museum in Salem , Seawalls 2021 in Boston  or the Underground at Ink Block .

The idea here is also to support the arts locally, and boost a new generation of painters who usually commission large scale murals like this for thousands of dollars. With Arthur and Pats, they've taken considerable cuts!

As with Arthur and Pats we would be consulting the property owner and neighbors to find a design and artist that fit for the project. For that project we consulted with the property owner to make sure he'd be ok with the designs and then we asked neighbors directly abutting the property what they'd like to see.

If you liked any of the murals provided at Arthur and Pats - the shark was done by Marshfield native Shane Leonard , the Jellyfish was done by Abington native and fine art painter Adam O'Day , the underwater Octopus was done by Brand Rockwell aka Brandalizm , and current work is being done by local legend and Cambridge native MerkAveli - I encourage you to please donate so we can see more of their and others artwork around town.

Each of these artists took time out from work, gallery showings, and other projects to make this one happen. Merkaveli, in particular, was gracious enough to fit us in before he heads out to a mural festival in Kansas City
