Marlana's Helpers

Marlana Ramsey was hospitalized at Eliott Hospital in Manchester, NH on Saturday, April 22, 2017 due to several complications with her pregnancy. On Friday morning, Marlana suffered heart failure from the stress of the pregnancy. Her twin boys were delivered by emergency csection. It was determined that her heart was not pumping effectively enough and she was immediately sent by Medflight to Mass General to further monitor her. At Mass General Marlana was put on full life support because her heart couldn't function on its own. Irreversible damage had been done to the left side of her heart and therefore Marlana underwent open heart surgery on Tuesday, May 9, 2017 and has been placed as a priority on the heart transplant list. Marlana’s doctors determined she suffers from a rare condition called Peripartum Cardiomyopathy.
Fast forward to March of 2018. Marlana was doing great then all of a sudden the implanted pump (VAD) that helps her heart function while she waits for a donor heart developed blood clots. The doctors were unable to dissolve the clots so she underwent open heart surgery last week. She managed to do great through the surgery and is recovering at Mass General Hospital. Marlana is one of the strongest woman I know but she has a long recovery in front of her. She will be going home soon but cannot lift anything for 10 weeks due to the strict recovery guidelines for open heart surgery.
Marlana is the mother to four beautiful children- Trulee, Illythia, and the 10 month old twins Colbin and Wesslin. Marlana’s husband, Christopher, works 2 jobs to support their family and cannot take extra time off while Marlana recovers to help her with the children. Marlana will need assistance at home or to put the children in daycare for her 10 weeks of recovery.
I would like to reach out to all my friends and family to help raise the funds Marlana and Chris will need to care for the children during Marlana's recovery. Help us reach the goal of $6000 so Marlana can focus on her recovery and Chris can focus on work and be secure in the fact that Marlana is recovering and getting stronger every day for her family.
Marlana and Chris apreciate all your support!!
