Marko’s Fight Fund

Donation protected
For as long as I can remember, Sundays have been my Dad’s day for motorcycle rides with his usual crew. On Sunday November 8th, he was riding on Route 3 in Plymouth, MA when his rear tire blew out and he went down. He went down on his left side and hit the ground before the guardrail eventually stopped him and the bike. One ambulance ride and one Med Flight later, he was admitted to Boston Medical Center’s SICU where he is still being cared for. My dad has not been awake since Sunday, November 8th, and so far the list of injuries include: bleeding in his brain, a skull fracture, a punctured lung, broken clavicle, 8 broken ribs, fractures in his left wrist and hand . . . the list, unfortunately, goes on. He is being closely followed by several teams at BMC and right now we are in the frustrating and exhausting ‘wait and see’ period that is associated with brain injuries.

Throughout his life, my Dad has served others. If you live on, or have visited, the North Shore of Mass, there’s a good chance Marko has made you lunch or dinner! He’s known for sneakily paying for others’ meals and groceries, being “the guy with the beard” at Gloria’s and Super Sub, and being a brother to many many motorcyclists in the state. If you know my Dad, you know that he is a caring and loyal person even beyond his sarcasm and tough exterior.

Marko has frequently helped others over the years and now it’s ourtime to ask for your help in supporting my Dad. Simply put, we need to stay afloat. We need to keep our home, pay the bills and make sure that things on the ‘outside’ are taken care of so that we can focus our time and energy on being with Dad.

Unfortunately, our needs are significant, particularly with pending medical bills.  We’ve set an initial goal of $3,000 truly hoping it is exceeded.

They say that you get what you give.  Right now, we are hoping that is true.  If everyone who has known and loved Marko does what they can to help us, amazing results are sure to follow.

My Dad is everything to me, and I appreciate your support more than words can say. I will be providing updates here as we move through this journey.

Thank you to all who support us, to the MA Motorcyclists’ Survival Fund, and to the incredible team at BMC. Please send positivity and prayers.
