Mark - Skydive for the NCBI
Donation protected
Hi All,
On the 16th September 2017, I am participating in a sky dive on behalf of the NCBI (National Council for the Blind Ireland) with all proceeds going towards this well deserving charity.
As most of you know and for those of you who dont , I had an accident on the 9th February and as a result I lost the sight in my right eye , I would like to thank my family and friends for all their supports over the past few months and I would also like to thank the surgeons and staff in the Mater hospital, they have tried on numerous occasions to restore my sight however so far it has been unsuccesful.
I am fortunate enough to still have the vision in my left eye . Almost 95% of the people who access the services of the NCBI every year have some degree of useful vision while less than 5% are blind.
NCBI offers community based services to help people to adapt to sight loss and maintain their independence. These services include emotional support to the individual experiencing loss of vision and to their families, advice and information on all aspects of vision loss as well as practical support and solutions to the challenges encountered by people with vision loss. Their services are offered to people of all ages, from birth through to older age.
Hopefully you can help me raise money for the great work the NCBI do, any help , big or small will be much appreciated.
