Mark "Hawk-Caveman" Reeves

Mark Reeves, 54, of Lake Charles left this world to be with the Lord on Saturday, April 7, 2018.

Mark was born on January 8, 1964 to Michael W. Reeves and Yvonne Wisby Read in Lake Charles, where he grew up and graduated from LaGrange High School and later attended McNeese.  Mark was a certified welder that worked all over the world as he would say, “From the North Pole to the South Pole”.  He was also known by his family and friends as “Hawk” and “Caveman”.  He was a father of two and was currently raising his youngest son and spending time with his grandchildren.  He loved the outdoors, riding motorcycles and driving fast cars. His favorite pastimes were movies, music and cooking.

Left to cherish his memory are his parents, father Michael W. Reeves and wife Beth of Mittie, LA and mother, Yvonne Wisby Read and husband George of Kehei, Maui; children Michael David Reeves and wife Brianna of Colorado Springs, CO and Jonathan M. Reeves of Lake Charles, LA; stepchildren Katelyn Holleman and partner Justin and Jarib Holleman and wife Jennifer from Lake Charles, LA; brothers Michael L. Reeves and wife Leah, from Lafayette, LA, Jack M. Reeves and wife Sheila of Sulphur, LA and Ken Yetman of Kehei, Maui; stepsiblings Jeremy Brammer of Keystone, CO and Megan Brammer of Mittie, LA; eight grandchildren; and numerous aunts, uncle, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Mark was preceded in death by his grandparents; Cephas and Lou Reeves from Mittie, LA and Addris and Irene Wisby from Sugartown, LA.

Visitation will be Wednesday, April 11, 2018 from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. and Thursday, April 12, 2018 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.  Funeral service will begin at 3 p.m. with burial to follow.  All visitation and services will be held at Cherry Grove Baptist Church in Mittie, LA.  Brother Robbie Rollins will officiate.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made directly to the family or through the GoFundMe.com account under “Mark “Hawk-Caveman” Reeves” to assist with expenses.
