***Disclaimer. I am using first names only due to the gravity of this situation. It is currently unknown where the proof of death pictures came from- either the Mexican authorities or in more likelihood, the cartel/gang associated with the death of Nico's brother. ***

I'm writing this on behalf of one my friends and long time coworkers, Nico(30). We have worked together for 5 years in Dallas, TX. Nico's older brother, Mario(34),  went missing in his hometown in Northern Mexico a little more than a month ago. All sources point to him being kidnapped. They assumed that like in most cases of this happening South of the border, there would be a ransom or some sort of financial agreement to see their loved one again. The call never came... Authorities, family, and close friends of the family searched for info about Mario's whereabouts daily, but no information was ever found.

Nico got a picture from his family back home, not from authorities, but instead a picture posted on Facebook of his brother and another young man in the back of a pickup, bloodied and deceased. This picture made its way to Nico's & family on Sept 21st, 2018. Nico's mother still has not been shown the picture, nor have Mario's 4 kids(3 girls and 1 boy). They ask where their father is daily. The entire family is broken hearted and at a loss as to what happened to their outstanding, kind, caring, loving, oldest son. Mario leaves behind family who counted on him not only for his love and kindness, but for his support as well.

Death in Mexico is not the same as Death in America. While death in the US can be costly between funeral arrangements and memorial services, it does not come close to death in Mexico. For one, in Mexico, a lot of times you need to pay just to ATTEMPT to recover the body of the deceased. The family has yet to receive any help on recovering Mario. This is one of MANY costs that Mexico has that the US does not when it comes to burying a friend or loved one.

ANY CONTRIBUTION HELPS.  All contributions go directly to Nico and Mario's family.

Regardless of if you decide to pitch in to help out Nico and Mario's family, please know that just your knowledge of these things happening in our world means that his death has made a difference. Let us all be thankful that we do not have this happening as an every day occurrence in MOST of our every day lives. I, for one, cannot imagine living in a world where my life is governed by fear, death, and corruption to the point of it greeting me every time I open my front door.

Thank you for taking the time to read this. God Bless.
