Dr. Marilyn A. Davies Memorial Scholarship

Our family intends to establish an endowment fund (meaning that the scholarship will exist indefinitely), called the "Dr. Marilyn A. Davies Memorial Scholarship." It was always my mother's wish to set up a scholarship fund for the University of Pittsburgh School of Nursing after her passing. In lieu of flowers and/or gifts, my mother would have preferred donations to be made in her name to her scholarship fund.

While my mother made arrangements to fund a scholarship for years to come, the school requires an initial $10,000 donation in order for the scholarship to carry her name. This Go Fund Me page is set up specifically to raise the money to establish this scholarship fund. All donations received through this page will go to establishing this scholarship in my mother’s honor.

The recipient will be chosen each year among applicants currently working to obtain their Masters in Nursing. Our family fully intends to select recipients who represent the values and goals of my mother, including being hard working, persistent, kind, and determined. While my mother may no longer be physically with us, she has left a lasting impression on so many, and we hope to continue allowing her to do so indefinitely.
