Marie Louise Sibazuri, écrivain, dramaturge, conteuse, poète et metteur en scene est une légende au Burundi.
Première femme dramaturge de son pays, elle surtout connue pour avoir écrit plus de 800 pièces radiophoniques prônant la tolérance et la paix, et qui ont recousu la société burundaise au coeur de la guerre civile qui la déchirait dans les années 90.
L'écriture est sa vie, mais depuis quelques années, Marie Louise souffre de problèmes de vue croissants. Sans emploi fixe il lui était cependant impossible de se faire soigner.
Aujourd'hui a 58 ans, elle doit subir une opération urgente, le 29 mai et 6 juin 2018, sans laquelle elle perdra sa vue entièrement. Son oeil droit a aujourd'hui une vision de 12%.
Ces fonds couvriront les frais essentiels de son opération, hospitalisation et voyage en belgique où l'opération sera faite. Mais ils ne suffisent pas pour couvrir tous ses besoins. Malgré ses immenses contributions a la littérature et aux arts, Marie-Louise vit sans emploi et revenu fixe. C'est aussi une femme profondement humble et discrète, qui demandera rarement de l'aide à qui que ce soit.

Marie Louise Sibazuri, writer, playwright, director, storyteller and poet and is a legend in Burundi.
The first female playwright of her country, she is best known for writing over 800 radio plays promoting peace and tolerance, which captivated and healed Burundian society at the heart of the civil war in the 1990s.
Writing is her life, but in recent years, Marie Louise has suffered from increasing sight issues. Without a fixed job, however, she was unable to access proper medical care.
Today, at 58 years old, she must undergo an urgent operation, on May 29 and June 6, 2018 respectively, without which she will lose her view entirely. Her right eye today has a vision of only 12%.
These funds will cover the essential expenses of the operation, hospitalization and travel in Belgium where the operation will be made. But they are not enough to cover all her needs. Despite her enormous contributions to literature and the arts, Marie-Louise lives without any fixed employment or income. She is also a profoundly humble and discreet woman, who rarely seeks help, from anyone.
